Penkhull Residents Want To Vote At Local Polling Station

Residents from the Trent Valley Road, Croft and Bromley Hough area of Penkhull have contacted Gavin to raise there unhappiness about having to vote at the Boothen Neighbourhood Centre off London Road, rather than their local Village Hall.

Before the ward boundary changes in 2002, residents in this area were part of the old Stoke West Ward and were able to vote at the Village Hall.

Following the changes their voting place was moved to the bottom of the bank, whilst voters in the new Hartshill and Penkhull Ward could continue to vote where they always had.

This arrangement is particularly problematic for elderly voters for whom the trek down to the Neighbourhood Centre and back is difficult.

If elected to the City Council Gavin Webb will campaign with local residents to get their local voting place re-instated. However, he needs the help of residents in that area to turn out to vote and ideally give him their support.

The higher the turnout in this area, the more justification there is for re-instating the local polling station.
